More Detailed History: Although the libraries of Prospero were destroyed by the joint treachery of the Emperor and Leman Russ, the Thousand Sons were, and continue to be, excellent caretakers of knowledge, and much was salvaged from the grip of treachorous defeat.
Although the exact date of Anubis Prospin's birth is unknown, it is known that he was born in the underground cavern city of Ares upon the world of Caiphen located in Segmentum Obscuras.
Imperial records state that Caiphen is a forgeworld. The planet is ruled, not by the Administratum; rather, it is run by the Adeptus Mechanicus. Most recent Imperial reports show the planet to be controlled by a Technocracy. The planet's surface is covered in vegetation, but the atmosphere is sulfuric, and the cities are all underground. Manufactorums send a constant tide of pollutants into the air, making the surface of the planet similar to that of a Beta-class Deathworld.
Imperial records and those of the Thousand Sons fail to clarify if the current conditions on Caiphen were the same when Anubis lived there. The Sorcerer Lord seems unwilling to talk about his first life prior to his induction.
Thousand Sons records state that Anubis was selected for induction because he exhibited an incredible intellect as well as a fierce primal strength. Whether his innate psychic abilities had an effect on his induction is unknown although they surely had an effect on his rise through the ranks.
His early service to the Thousand Sons disintegrated with the rest of Prospero. The first remaining mention of his Pre-Heresy service record is as a Sergeant on the planet of Caprica, which is located near the strange warp anomolie known as the Sagital Rift.
In this early action, Anubis distinguished himself and his squad. Facing primitive Eldar known to their kin as Exodites, Anubis' squad found an enemy warpgate. Enemy troops were pouring through the gate, and Anubis' squad fired at them as they came through.
After voxing their situation and location to the Thousand Sons Commander on the planet, Anubis set demo charges at the gate, and as the next wave of xenos warriors came through they faced a fiery explosion that killed them and destroyed the gate, stopping the Craftworld Eldar from reinforcing the area.
The xenos were defeated, in large part due to the destruction of the warpgate; their destruction blocked the Craftworld Eldar from aiding their Exodite kin, leaving the primitives at the mercy of bolters.
The real prize was not Caprica, but the wealth of xenos information gained on Caprica. Ancient ruins and Exodite cities held hidden information.
Upon his return to Prospero, Anubis rose to the rank of Sectus Librarius Custodes. The rank was relatively low, and Anubis was merely a minor Librarian in the grand scheme of things. Anubis was placed in the honor guard of the Tertian Librarius Custodes Tyros Athens.
Fate brought Librarian Tyros Athens and the Battlebarge Istoire and the Strike Cruiser Revelation to the Braxxus solar system. Finding the human population of the Braxxus system enslaved by Orks, Tyros planned a campaign to cripple the Orks by finding and killing the Ork leadership.
Ork forces in space were engaged in orbit over the planet Xi. The Thousand Sons led several successful boarding actions resulting in the destruction of most of the Ork fleet, including a large space hulk.
Following their orbital victory, the Thousand Sons landed on Xi, gained control of the major citycenters, and forced the Orks out into the open tundra plains. During the initial attacks on Xi, the Ork leadership (what constitutes Ork leadership at any rate) on the planet was quickly killed, thanks in large part to the second sight of the Thousand Sons' Librarians. Ground forces cornered the Orks into several encampments so that orbital strikes could be used effectively. The Orks faced destruction by orbital bombardment or death by bolter; most chose the latter, Orks rushing across open tundra to assault Thousand Sons behind heavy cover. The resulting battle resembled a massacre, and the Orks on Xi were slaughtered to the last, their spores burned to stop future insurgency.
The Thousand Sons followed the same tactic on the planets Ix and Vi to similar success; however, on the planet Iv, the Orks proved stronger and more organized (a term that would never be linked with Orks in normal circumstances).
Physical Description:
That was his old armor which normally has the jackal motif and jackle symbol but also has the symbol of the Thousand Sons on left shoulder pad and the all-seeing eye on the back and crown of his helmet. In that instance the eye and the thousand sons symbol had been stripped from the armor.

Physical Description:
In one hand Anubis held a staff designed to magnify his psychic powers and channel them. It had been adapted from a power glaive on one of the forgeworlds Anubis had captured long ago. Sigils of Tzeentch coursed along the staff and litanies of chaos were detailed across it, written in the blood of his enemies. In his other hand, Anubis had a master crafted plasma pistol - a recent addition "donated" to him by an Imperial governor. Anubis reached the Imperial lines (more of a large trench) and opened fire with another psychic blast to complement his plasma pistol, which had made a hole where one trooper's skull had been.
His armor was the standard regal blue and burnished gold of all the Thousand Sons, and it had escaped the mutation that was common among other Chaos marines. An all seeing eye rested on one shoulder pad, a testament to Tzeentch's power and omnipotent vision. The symbol for the Thousand Sons rested on the other, a quiet reminder to Anubis of his Legion and his roots. The armor went unscathed against the pitiful assault of an Imperial soldier and his bayonet-wielding lasgun.
Over his armor, Anubis wore a cape composed of blades taken from his enemies. These included a collection of ceremonial blades - many Eldar in origin - and even a few of the ritual blades carried by Dark Angel Chaplains; he had taken them from a Fallen Angels he had a "friendly encounter" with. For the moment the cape was wirling around and slashing the face of a nearby guardsman.

He wore a cape made from reptile scales. He had found it on the corpse of Salamanders Space Marine. The cape had a few small blades grafted on to the scales, but was for the most part as Anubis had found it.
His power-armored legs lifted him up the remaining stairs, on the dead bitch's corpse, and into the narrow entryway to a spacious room. Brown eyes looked at the carnage and brightened. Several Sororitas lay dead or dying, and a few members of the pompous priesthood were en mortem.
Anubis was equally devoid of ties to his faith. Barring the armor’s color, nothing hinted at his Legion or his God. The armor did bear one symbol: a jackal motif. The motif was found on his right shoulder pad, and his helmet resembled a jackal’s head. It was his personal symbol.
